Perfect Present Tense

The Use

The Perfect Present Tense is used when something happened in the past and has an effect until now.


The Rule/Form (active-voice)

Positive Sentence Structure:
Subject + have/has Adverb + adverb (if necessary) + Verb (in the past participle form) + Object. Example: I have studied English.

Negative Sentence Structure:
Use never and as adverbs.

Question Structure:
have/has + Subject + Adverb (commonly: ever) + Verb (in the past participle form) + Object + etc… +? Example: have you yet studied English? yes.

Tag Question Structure:
have/has + not (if the sentence was positive ) + noun +?. Example: I haven’t yet studied English. have I? Yes, you haven’t.


The Rule/Form (passive-voice)

Positive Sentence Structure:
subject + have/has + been + verb (past participle). Example: The homework has been done.

Negative Sentence Structure:
subject + have/has + not + been + verb (past participle). Example: The homework has not been done.

Question Structure:
have/has + subject + been +verb(past participle). Example: has the homework been written? yes, of course.

Tag Question Structure:
have/has + noun +?. Example: The homework has not been done, has not it? no, it has not.
